So I wanna take my younger cousin out hunting this weekend. He has past his fac course and has sent away for it, bu has not received his card in the mail yet. Is he still allowed to carry a gun or not when huntin?

I think that as long as he has his CORE and hunter number then he can hunt and carry a gun if hes with you ( assuming you have your PAL/FAC)

Thanks! Well he has his hunter number but I think he sent all his paper work away for his FAC. He is 18 and really excited to get out on his own this year so I dont think he will be hunting with me if its legal

Yeah, FAC doesn't exist anymore but I believe he can call down to the firearms center and they can give him his number. If you have a PAL then your good to go. I have never been asked to produce my PAL unless buying ammo or rifle.

If he is under your direct supervision, he doesn't need a PAL

So if he does not have his pal or fac but has takin the course and is waiting on them in the mail he can not hunt on his own?

A person is not supposed ot be in possesion of a firearm without a valid PAL or POL. FAC doesn't exist anymore.

If he can get his PAL #, it may be enough, depends on the officer. CO's arent' even asking for PAL's, just want hunitng liscenses.
