Sept. 10 - What's the pan?

Elk, immy moose/LEH, velvet deer, bear? So much to hunt, so little time!! What's your plan for opening day of rifle season?

I'm still undecided...I've got two more sleeps to make up my mind!!!

i will be headin up to an area with a buddy of mine who just did his core a couple weeks ago...wanna go sit on this one clear cut and watch it just before dark and see what we can see hopefully we see a nice buck...heading out to the same clear cut today with my lil cousin...

Thank god it’s here, After all these decades of hunting and I still feel like a kid just before Christmas. Come to think off it, I use to be more exited about season opening day as a kid than about Christmas.

I have scouted well in advance and on opening day I will sit in my spot from where I have a good view over several clear cuts where I have some good sized bucks. One of them is a monster. I have set my heart on him.

I also have a moose and a black bear tag. This season I have more time than last year and so I will be out in the woods all day and every day for the next four to five weeks.:smile:

Heading out to see if I can play with some elk in the morning (3am):) Incorporating it into my work day. The crew saw a cow the other day. Will take any whitetail or a nice bull elk.

My wife and I take off this afternoon for reg8, booked a cabin for a couple nights(with a hot tub:razz:). Hoping to get her first buck! Checked batteries, Sharpened knives, oiled the actions in the guns. This is the adults Christmas for sure!!!!!! Rob

Unfortunately my opening day involves me being at work all day...however as soon as I'm off I'm heading to the hills for an evening hunt.

I'm leaving in 20 minutes for a 4 day solo hunt in the alpine for mulies. 3hr drive 5hr hike I'm hoping I'll have the tent set up and glassing by 1800hrs. Isn't it funny the last thing I'm doing before I leave the house is checking in on Huntingbc. I love this time of year. Good luck everyone!

Out in 3-28/3-29 high up early tomorrow looking for a 4 point. Weather to be nice. Scouting for spike bull for 20th as well. Nice to be able to use vacation days when it suits me.

Headed out to hunt elk for a few days....not too sure if those interior bulls even exist anymore but will giver a try with my Dad.

Heading to the E.K for Elk with my Sons and Brother.Had a great year in 07 with 3 of us tagged out with nice Bulls, 4 days into our two week hunt.Should be another good year after a mild winter.Have been hunting in the E.K for 20+ years and have never seen the Bull numbers as good as they are now.Lets go have some fun.Good luck to all.

Immy moose seem to be the best in the early season on private land...probably what I will be looking for!! Seem to have a soft spot for those tasty 2 point moose!

I had my planes already set from when I came back from elk last year.

Went out this morning....saw a 2 point mulie, 2 does with 2 fawns each and one coyote. No moose! Nice morning all in all!
