Thought I'd move this thread to the appropriate spot...sorry to anyone who has already read it in "Open Chat"-

I just ordered myself a new 15x45x60 Bushnell Elite Spotting scope and I need a tripod for it.... one that will fit in my j107 Eberlestock. I'd also like it to extend to about 5ft so that I can use it for my DSLR but I really don't want it to weigh a ton or cost a fortune. I'm not sure if this is an unreasonable expectation or not? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The first thing you need to ask yourself is are you using it for sheep/goat hunting if so you need light and small and compact. If not just go to a camera store and see what the have to offer. They have lots for the job your looking for but light for the mountains is a whole different thing.

Thanks mlowe... I can't say that I'll never go sheep or goat hunting; I'd like to at somepoint but not in the near future. At this point i'd just like something that's half decent...I thought maybe there might be a brand or type that guys prefer?

Thanks bubba350,

Pretty interesting concept. I've actually already purchased my tripod a Manfrotto 718B. I started another thread because I wasn't gtting much feedback on this one. Heres the link:

Thanks a lot for the link though I appreciate it. I'm sure there will be others who will find it handy as well.
