Jelvis - I am not too familar with areas east of Houston which includes Burns Lake. My personal moose grounds are local haunts in 6-15 and then areas both north and south of Dease Lake. A canoe is always a good thing but there are not a lot of lakes along the highway north of Dease but there are a few. The Dease River is a pretty popular area but the closure of Moose Meadows may have negatively impacted a few hunters.

Areas in the Nass Valley have seen moose hunting closed and only open for a select few LEH. Even the Nisga are restricted as the numbers are really low.

Back to you Jel...!

I have been hunting moose in 6-06 since 1967 , We are heading up there This Saturday for two weeks on the LEH hunt , we have 4 bull draws , there are lots of moose in the area if you know where to look , I am not going to tell where the exact spot is that we hunt cause it took many years to figure the area out , that being said if you have a leh tag most of the cut blocks on the South east side of the Babine are fairly productive , if you go out on the Babine with a boat make sure it a fair sized craft with lots hp to get you off the lake quickly that lake gets real wicked when it blows up, you can launch at the hatchery at Pinkut creek , I have experienced Babines rough waters on many a Hunt and it can be real bad. during the open season Oct 20 to 26 you can have sucess in 6-06 as well only thing is there are a lot more hunters in there at that time and the rut is done so finding one can be more difficult , lots of good sizes Black bears in there as well , not really a good deer area, Good luck

Atlin is a great spot this time of year, the locals don't go out until later, so if you make the trek into 6-25 southeast of Atlin around Wilson creek, you may find you're the only one there.

The ones the wolves haven't got cars and the increase in train traffic have taken care of.
