West Koot Elk Tips

I'm leaving in a week for my west koot draw.

Any tips for hunting elk in the west koots? What are the best areas to look for the big bulls in the pre-rut? This will be my first elk hunt and man am I pumped!

P.S. Can't we make it possible to search for "elk" threads, as right now you can't because it's less than 4 letters.

Try searching "elk koots" . Wish i could offer more help but have never hunted elk in the koots. Good Luck with both the search and hunt.

Oh man, you are going to have some fun on this hunt!!! We had a draw up there a few years ago, and let me tell you, those bulls are hot all the time!! Get prepared to get wet though, we were only there for 2 days because we got our elk early, but it was wet.

Hold out for something big, theres lots of big ones up there. What unit did you get it for?
