First hunting trip of the year 2008!

Went up north to shoot a 3 point or better elk this year for the first time.

When we got there the day before the season we saw this little deer.

We seen alot of bull elk but couldn't get close enough or they were always one step ahead of us.
We set up a ambush on the last morning of the hunt. At 6:00 am my wife Cheryl, connected with this elk!

Cheryl then proceeded to gut her animal but then we realized that I forgot the meat saw. We had a
4" saw that fit on our knife but we got the job done.

All in all a very good trip. Next week in 7-15 Cheryl has a bull moose draw so we will see what happens there.

Beauty animal with gorgeous polished dark colored tines with white tipped antlers. Great shape too will be elk tenderloins and chateau bre oin for dinners ahead. You did good both of you need cooo dooo's for this one. Jel-nice elkster.
