My first caribou wife and I got him on our recent trip north hunted hard for three days than shot him from camp on the fourth day. Sometimes it just works that way. Hope this picture thing works

Good job! I wonder if anybody has ever had the same experience on a sheep hunt. Now that would be nice.

Good job! I wonder if anybody has ever had the same experience on a sheep hunt. Now that would be nice.

I know several people who opened their tent slowly in the morning to see rams only yards to 100's of yards away. I also know several people who have been pinned down in their tent and unable to get out for hours to a day. Had a buddy watch a hog all afternoon but could not get out of the tent to do the stalk. Ran out of weather or daylight and never saw the ram again.

One guy on a guided dall hunt with the Lancasters was hunting for a bit and never saw any good shooters. They got weathered in for awhile and when they started to crawl out of the tent they saw several rams within range. He basically shot his ram with his boots in the tent. Was a very nice ram.

It can easily happen. Rams move in over night or in foggy weather then get pinned down in first light or when the fog lifts.

Know several elk bugled right into camp. Happens often. We got one a few years ago while a few of us were still in bed. Partner leaned over the grub box and shot the 6 by 6 elk at about 100 yards. Elk fell about 20 yards from the river. Easiest elk I have been in on.

That is awesome stuff. My grandmother shot a moose in camp once while everybody else was out hunting. I would be forced to modify my tent with a knife to make shots possible if these circumstances arose.

I shot a hole in my tent once...didn't even have to leave the tent.

Beat THAT with a hockey stick!
