Heading out for Youth Season

Just 1 more sleep and my son and I will be heading up country for a short trip to try and take advantage of the youth season deer opening and maybe get a bear for myself. We went out to the range yesterday for practice and to try and get the best round picked out for my son 7mm-08. Shot 4 different factory ammos and he was able to get a few ~1" 3 shot groups at 100 yds with the 140gr Fusions. He wasn't able to get out with me last year because of sports and school commitments so we are looking forward to a few of these weekend hunts this year. Good luck to all of you this season and hopefully we will have some pictures and stories to post in a few days.

Me too. I have not been able to take my son out for a few years. Before it was him as an observer but now (14) he has his CORE and POL. He's a hunter now (bambihunter) I can't wait to come home with some pics and meat - fingers crossed - I am very proud of him and ALL dads should try to do this. Keep the heritage alive brothers
