Cry Lake

Hello all...

Anybody been into Cry Lake area and if so what can you tell me about the area for good camp locations, game, outfitter camps, fishing ect.. Any info welcomed...

Its called Cry lake because the hunting is poor and most end up in tears....J/King. Usually busy with residents hunting. Was there years ago and fishing was good. A small boat would be very handy...

Cry Lake does get pressure. It's a huge lake.

South end is a very good moose hunt. Mid section is ok for moose and Caribou. The north end is where to look for Goats and sheep.

You want a boat on this lake. When I was there we were on foot and there was little game near camp. We pounded the area with only one legal animal being spotted in a doable spot in 12 days.

I wouldnt say I wouldnt hunt there again. I'd not go later than mid Sept and I wouldnt go without a boat.

We did find a raft someone made. Looked scary but that underlines just how much a boat is needed on that lake if people would go that far.
