Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this scope. I am looking to get one and a local sporting good store has them for about $90.00 off the regular price

I just put one on my 300 win mag. A couple buddies have them on their rifles and like them. Moosin

I have one on my 7mm...its a good scope, but I prefer my Leupolds.

For the $ you are getting it for, it will be a great scope.

I also have a elite 3200 on my 270. I used to have a old tasco on it. It has definitely made the world of difference as i can make more confident shots and at the same time see my object much clearer..

i wouldnt waste your money on the firefly recticle... i think its just a gimmick and personally i dont have the time to shine a light in my scope while i am hunting...

but hands down its an excellent scope.

It's a good scope. It will last you a while and do all you need from a hunting scope.

they're pretty decent and hard to beat @ $230 regular price. If you're getting it for $150 consider it robbery, anything less than $200 is an amazing deal

Used to have one on my 308, for 90 bucks off the retail price, you're getting quite a deal. Grab it before I do! A great scope for that price.

maybe you can let us know where they're selling for that after you grab yours...so us others w/o can get one!

Tod, do you know anything about the Sightron model's? after a bit of thinking on that list that's quoted on Chuck Hawk's site, it seems more of a listing from a-z (low end to higher end) and then given the appropriate star rating for it's supposed quality.

I have to match something up to my Marlin XL7 .25-06 in the $200 price range...and like my first rifle purchase, this is my first scope.

Sightron are probably ok, Ive only looked through one, it was nothing special but most $200 scopes arent too amazing. Also check out Pentax GameSeeker's for $160 or so for a 3-9x40 with the precision plex reticle which is like a Swarvoski TDS plex, pretty decent scope.

I'd get a Leupy VXI 3x9x40 for $289 rather than an Elite. Really, when you think about it, the price difference is just one tank of gas in your truck, but the quality difference IMO is huge...8)

Dude think about it, we are not all millionaires like you. We buy what we can afford.

I have the leopold as stated above, it has gone in for repairs already after one season, my buddy's have the 3200 and have had no problems after two hard seasons... DD

used the 3200 3-9x40 for a few seasons now. Love it. Putting it on my wifes rifle as I went to the 4200 for a little extra power

My reasoning for a Leupold over a Bushnell was the warranty. Sure we all hope to never need to use it, but my luck with Bushnell to date has sucked!!!

not alot of difference between a VXI & 3200 in brightness & clarity, it's a toss up. Leupold gets my vote for the same reason Steeleco said, quick warranty!

I picked up a flyer at Hub Sports with all hunting stuff. They have the 3-9x 42 for $209.00 on sale. That is a good price.

Thanks for the info guys, I ll have to give some thought to both the Bushnell and the Leupold but I may be shopping elsewhere as prices that have been mentioned here are a lot better than where I have been looking

Conrad74

That, plus Bushnell guarantees something like 2" variance between low and high power, whereas Leupold guarantees no change. Tells you something about manufacturing tolerances. ;)

and you heard that from where???

I will take the 3200 over the Leupold low-ends that live off a reputation of old, any day of the week .

Just remember that of that $289 89 is for the scope and the other 200 is for the Leupold name.;)

I've had the 3200 for 2 years now, it's a great scope at a GREAT price, never a problem.

I have 2 3200's and like them fine. I don't have any POI issues to speak of. They are clear, fairly bright, the 4200's are better, of which I also have 2. I would buy another for sure if the deal was good.

I'm a stout fan of the 3200.

They're reliable and work when needed. There's other stuff better but bang for buck, it's hard to beat IMO. I have one on my 300 WM that I could swap out for better but can't find reasoning to do it. So it stays.

I bought one earlier this year. Couldn't beat Italians regular price, and (if I remember properly) less than any of the numbers mentioned here.

Got one for my 30-06 earlier this year from Italian to replace an old JapaneseTasco.
Only had it at the range so far but the difference is amazing. Clear optics, very nice. If you can get one at the $209 figure, grab it.

ive got one on my .308 and just put another one on my .300WM and for the price they're great i cant justify spending anymore than that on guns that are as old as mine anyway for the price they are deffinatly amazing and great for low light shots

I have one on my 300wsm. Just tried it for the first time on opening day of rifles last weekend. In terms of brightness I found it to be incredible. Great for the dawn and dusk hours. In clarity however, I found that at 9x it was a little bit on the weak side. Still clear enough to make a shot at 400yrd range, but not ideal. (I turned down that shot btw, and not because of the clarity :p)
