Meat Moose Down

I finished my shift yesterday, and decided to go for a little Moose hunt on the river. So a couple friends and I headed out this morning, at about 6:00. We have a few REALLY sweet spots, but it takes a few hrs to get to them. Long story short- Tons of tracks, but we see nothing and get eaten alive by mosquitoes. We head toward home in the afternoon, tails tucked firmly between our legs.
About 45 minutes from the truck, we come around a corner and see this guy off in the distance. After a little stalk, down he goes.

Congrats on your moose ,sometimes you get lucky and this is one of them times ,there will be no packing ,just lift it into your boat.

It will be very good eating animal to have on the table comes this fall.

LOL, No I'm not that good. I gave him one warning shot:redface:, and then let him have it (Low in the hump, almost the base of the neck)

HOT HOT HOT, It was about 6 deg in the morning, and so foggy we could not see more than about 80 yrds.
Got him some time between 2-3 ish (on the way home) and it was probably about 20 deg ish
