So, I went camping with the gf out to her cabin around Gold Bridge B.C. and I couldn't resist bringing my 12 Ga up with us, hopefully I was going to use it!

Turns out I did early Sat morning at 6am sitting on the toilet, I look out the window and there are snow shoed hares in the distance mowing on the grass. I jump off the toilet grab my gun load it and I'm off. My gfs dog was intersted so i took him too, but told him to stay put. I pick my mark and sneak on him to about 15 yds before I let him have it. I really loved how my gf's lab buddy went straight for him grabbed him while he was doing his dead dance and brought him to my feet. Maybe I should take him hunting more often.

I was shooting my 12ga browning bps with a imp cyl mod choke and aimed abit high on the head because I didn't want to fill him up. I don't know how everyone does with shot placement but to my luck or skill.. i only had 3 shot hit the hare. One in the head one in the rib area and another in the upper neck.

here is a pic of him:

Anyways I gutted him and this is how he looked like:

Barley enough to fill me for one sitting, no wonder they have a limit of 10 per day..

Well, I set the damage for only one little guy for that weekend hoping theyd grow bigger for the next outing , plus the gf wanted to do other things..

If they are not eating pine needles, then they taste good.

getting her into hunting is a great thing to do, My wife is a hunter and it is great to be able to share something that is so important and in reality really is a lifestyle with the right person .
