I have a place up in big white and was planning a deer hunting trip up there in October. So I was wondering if there was any good gobbler spots in the Kelowna area? If so this would make a great thanks giving day feast!

Howdy,

If you can handle the cost of a ferry ride, we got a TON of turkeys' here in Victoria down at the legislature!

Cheers,

Don't think theirs too many up that far.........but I could be wrong. Most turkeys I hear about are usually east of Osoyous but I have heard of them by Oliver now? but I wouldn't bank on it.

If you're at Big White and want turkeys, I'd suggest heading east to the Christian Valley or down to Grand Forks. There are some turkeys closer to the Kelowna area, but I've never seen one.

South to the Christian Valley and you're into turkeys for sure. Just turn south on the logging roads to Nevertouch Lake off the Big White road and they are there.

I saw a turkey once, quess it would be east of the airport, up the hill. Was surprise to see it. This is about as much as I know.

Was planting trees there and it ran across the road.

I hate to burst your bubble but...turkeys are not open near Big White (8-10) in the fall.

Only down south reg. 8-01 & 8-09 Oct. 01 - Nov. 30.
They are harder to hunt in the fall. The toms won't come in to a call as easy as they do in spring.
