Trail Cam

I'm looking at purchasing a trail cam. Thoughts are toward a Moultrie Gamespy 4 meg with IR flash or the new Moultrie Outfitter Cam 5 meg and IR flash. Any opinions on these two or other similar cameras?? Thanks for any help

I just got my secount trail cam from cabelas a few days ago ,it has the same thing you are looking for.

I got it after ordering it in about 10 days.

It coast $132.00 delivered to my home.

how does your new camera work? I bought a cheap one last year, but got rid of it because it was a complet peice of crap. I'v been on the look for a trail camera that takes decent pics at a decent price. I almost picked up one of the Bushnells from walmart, but I'm leary on buying another peice of crap. I have seen blacktailstalkers thread andthey are nice pictures for sure. I think the concept of trail cams is awesome.

My friend had a similar experience. He bought a cheap one and it never really worked. IMHO I'd spend the extra $$$$ and get a good one to start.

Go with the moultrie I40 you will not be dissapointed at all. There is a dealer on ebay that is in ontario. You can get it to your house for $225. Cabelas sells them for $219. Best bang for buck right there.

Like I said Ron look on the island thread under blacktailstalkers trail cam thread and you will see lots of pic from my trail cam ,yes Ron I am very happy with this trail cam ,thats why I ordered a second one.
For the Price on this camera ,you can't beat it ,had 4 meg pixels as well with a flash.

I bought a Bushnell for about $100 and set it up for a few days. When I picked it up it had a couple of shots of me setting in up, and a couple picking it up. When I went to set it back up for a second time it just would not work at all. Batteries were fine, it would turn on, just wouldn't take any shots, so I sent it back.
Then bought a Moultrie for $200 and love it. It's on it's first set of batteries and been running every day since the middle of May. Got some good shots, but having trouble posting anything larger than about 50KB here on HBC.
Definitely happy with the Moultrie and will be getting a couple of more!

I've got a few Wildview's and I am happy with both the flash and IR models. They have worked flawlessly for me with rechargeable batteries. Here is a sample from last year.

They work, but are very hard on batts in the cold weather!

The cold is hard on the batteries and thats why I have rechargeables. When I check my cameras I will have some spare batteries with me and change the ones that are low, return them home with me, recharge them and they are good for the next swap. Rechargeables are the way to go, although a little expensive to start out with they pay for themselves over time. I get at least a month on a set of batteries with my cameras.

I've got the same one as H47 and mine works great....no complaints...cheap too. 130 bucks right to my front door step.

My partner left his trail cam for while we were gone back to work. The temps were just at freezing and his batteries did not last 24 hours. I also think he had a really cheap cam and his timer and such really drained his batteries faster than with a good cam.

Do you guys with cams use them lots in November?

All year around I will keep my two out there ,its good to keep them out to see if they winter in the place where you are hunting next year.
