Well after 3 weekends in row to Tofino I had enough of that road(it's the sh&*'s around Kennedy Lake). We had 2 great trips and 1 so so trip. I decided it was time to head out to the Bamfield area again and with the weather looking favourable on Saturday the Big Bank was in reach. The crew consisted of my father (first fishing trip on the Sculpin after his knee operation) and my son first mate Jake.

Was fairly good sea conditions and foggy heading out. Make it out to the South end of La Perouse bank in an hour and a bit. We were using T-Rex hoochies behind green UV flashers. Jake caught his first spring salmon this trip and it weighed out at bang on 20 lbs. Handled the rod great and did everything himself from setting the downrigger, keeping pressure on, palming the reel just right, and getting her up to the side of the boat perfectly. His grandfather and myself were real proud of him.

We caught a couple of hatchery coho, four chickens, and got 9 crabs. We lost and broke off just as many or more fish than we caught. All in all was a great day and time well spent with family.
