Then home for about a week and I will then take a younger fella out for the youth mule deer buck season and run it in to the 10th,and hunt a couple days myself for that monster mulie.

August Stones - CANCELLED! (burned ankle for those that missed it)

Sept 1 - 9 - vacation with wife, combined with some early season archery elk action on a limited basis (due to wife and ankle!)

Weekends in Sept/Oct - was hoping alpine muleys/bighorns, but steep climbing not likely while ankle still healing. Probably elk hunting in easy terrain instead.

First week Nov - early Deer Camp in region 4

Last week Nov - Mule Deer camp in region 5

Early Dec (dates not known yet) - late season TBBC archery Deer Camp in region 4.


Mucho disappointment with the ankle injury, but when you step back and look at the big picture like this, there's still lots to be excited about! :)

BT's opening weekend on the island.

6 Days in November (8th-13th)....still haven't decided where I am going to go yet. i might just stay on the island and hold out for the big one....maybe I'll head up to "clearwater". I hear it's pretty good up that way....just kidding.

I'll be hunting every chance I get on the island until November 29th and then I'm off for 2 weeks to Eastern/Southern Caribbean on a cruise. Ft Lauderdale, Grand Cayman, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica, Colombia, Cozumel...kind of bitter sweet. All my hunting time is being used up for this vacation but it should be pretty darn good.

Next year all my holidays are going to be allocated for hunting.....No if ands or buts....those Swamp Donkeys better look out in 09'.

Hmmm, I'm gonna start by chasing the mulies around with a pointy stick and a piece of string locally on opening day.

Mid-late sept. I'll probably be heading up north to try my hand at the elk gos seasons.

mid nov. I'm going to drag my backside up into the alpine for mulies like I do every year with my father in law.

and at any point in between, I may or may not be trying to get me a little swamp donkey.
