The wife and I headed out to fish some new water (for her) and see if we could put a few fish in the boat. After an hour boat ride we arrived at the "spot". One rod in the water and setting up the second when the first gets slammed into the water and off it goes. I hand the rod to her and get things cleard away. After about a 3 min fight, it shakes the hook. (this sets up the morning for her) After an couple more hours we have three nice springs in the boat to 26 lbs, one more and it is off the hali hole.... Two hours later and 5...yes 5 springs lost by her:-? we decide to go fish hali's. As we get ready to leave, we then nail a double header on 7 lbs twin coho's, so now she is feeling a little better.

Off the the hali hole, where she proceeds to reel in a 35 lbs hali, a 20 lbs ling and two nice yellow eye and me.... two sea cucumbers and finally a 30 lbs hali. I lost two fish.

When it was cleaned up and in the freezer, we had 70 lbs of fish filets.

Here she is with the fish and her 26 lbs spring

I'm jealous!
Been going up your way out of Alder Bay for the last six years & had to take a pass this year.
We normally fish out at Lizard or head over to Foster if the weather permits.
Stayed a couple of years at Echo Bay, but that place is being run into the ground.
God's country no doubt!! Thanks for rubbing it in.

Nice fish!
Fished out of Telegraph Cove for years. Liked Donegal and Lizard point on Malcolm as well as Cracroft Point. My buddy is heading up next week, maybe next year for me though.....

LOL!!!
At first we were a little leary about the gas that would be consumed, but after about 60 hours on the boat this summer, no worries. For that Saturday we ran the big motor at 4000-4100 rpm (28 mph) for two hours and the the kicker for another 7 and we burned $66 in fuel. At a $1.44/l it works out to about 10 gallons for the day. If fuel was a "Normal" price it would be a lot cheaper than golfing, probably is in some areas. My old boat us to burn 5 gallons in 45 minutes at 4000 rpm. These new yamaha's rock!!!!

We bought the boat to fish out of, not make it a yard boat, so yea we are getting our money worth.
