I've been fortuate enough since 1980, when I first entered the LEH system, to be able to hunt for every draw received and now that retirement has come that will not change!

what does it matter it is factored into the odds allready.
As for the guides getting what isnt used couldnt that be curtailed by simply purchaseing your tag even though you didnt hunt ?

Ya I think they factor it in unless the species is really rare like bison maybe or some sheep in certain areas.

I wish they would make black bear a draw, that way I would feel like I am always a WINNER!!!!

It's less about $ for tags and more about how sucessful hunters are as oposed to guides. If hunters are not taking enough animals they will increase the amount that guides get to take. Guides have higher sucess rates (people pay for results) and they make more money off tags and licences from guides not to mention to added money to the economy 30$ tag you buy or 2000$ hunt paid to guide?
Don't think that they will just increase the amount of LEH's they let out if sucess rates are low either, the ministry is very cautious about that because if one year sucess rates are high on an over inflated draw they devistate the numbers and end up shutting down the hunt for a few years or ten.
Man more guys should have attended the LEH meetings they were hugely informative.

I had two frigging goat draws in the fish river. south of Revelstoke. Went there four times on seperate years. IT WAS ALWAYS CLOUDY. Tough to glass for goats in the fog.
