I'm currently reading O'Connor's book on Sheep, pretty good stuff. Is there the equivalent on Montain Goat?

Not too many books strictly on goats. Try "Hunt High" by Duncan Gilchrist. For good scientific information Valerie Geist has done lots of research on goats. Many hunting books just contain a chapter or two on goat hunting experiences ("Gone Hunting" by Pat Ferguson, "Campfires in the Canadian Rockies" by William Hornaday)

Glancing thru my library I concur what BC Billy mentioned that most of my books have a single chapter chronicalling a goat hunt which was usually incidently to the primary prey.

I used to get a series of book of the month issues from NAHC and one edition is called "High Country Hunting." This has several chapters
on goats.

Another book I enjoyed is "Taking Your Chances in the High Country", by Rikhoff. Here he details numerous goat hunts over many chapters. I think I got it from Safari Press.

I'll keep my open as I am always looking thru old bookstores for antique
hunting books.

There is a new book out:
Mountain Goats: Ecology, Behavior, and Conservation of an Alpine Ungulate

I have picked it up but only reaaly flipped through it. Looks pretty indepth stuff (like a college text book). Does not look like too much hunting stuff.

I have read The Beast the Color of Winter and it's a great read.
Have to read it if you desire to hunt these magnificent creatures.

Enjoy...

Okay, so now that you guys have read The Beast the Color of Winter, is anyone ready to sell me a copy?

We are getting ready for our first goat hunting trip this year.

Let me know, thank you.
