Was down in Jelvis' area and saw this buck today. Is he going to be a Shooter by the time he's done growing?

I guess we know why Jellyroll is always trying to get hunter's to hunt in Clearwater and away from his little hidey hole now don't we? You don't have to go far from the Loops to find monster bucks.

That buck still haunts my dreams. I can still see it when I close my eyes. Biggest typical I've ever seen in my life. Made the two 190 inch bucks that were with him look like Dinks. Heck, he even made Widebugger look like a rat. Without a doubt that buck would have been the new #1 provincial record.

Looks promising but that crab claw G2-G3 got me bugged, nice brows and width. Have to wait and see how much he improves by hunting season, I agree with Rams, Last day he'd be riding home with me.

Usually by then you've done something silly like driven your truck over your gun. You better take him right off the get-go.

I'll try to keep an eye on this buck this summer. Judging from what I've seen in growth in past summers, I'd say he's still got a lot of growing yet to be done. He's still really bally at the ends which means he's got a lot of tine length still comin'. Looks like he's got 2 or 3 extras that should easily be scorable points once he's done. I'd bet that he'll probably gross over that 180 mark once he's done.

He will be. Any time the antler spread is outside the ears on a muley, that's good! Hard to tell about mass though - antlers might bulk out yet?

That one big buck will score up in the hi 190s ,he will defintly be a shooter ,he still has one month of growing left on his antlers.

Hope he is in an area where you can take him Dana http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon12.gif.

Vinny the buck. The Vinsula Vinny. Some one is going to get Vinny he is provoking people showing off his rack in public. People will remember. I know a way in behind that high ridge and on top. Only one way to get in there and I was taken to it by local yokel. dah. I got the skinny on Vinny No. 5. Jel-who-is-in-shape?

Vinsula Vinny. I like the name. Suits him.

Jelvis
07-08-2008, 08:46 PM
I love Vinsula, everytime we drove by in the saxties and saventies, I fell in love with Vinsula, the old log buildings and habitat on each side of de highway I said , " Now here's a place I would live." I see so many deer off the highway from Heffley, the biggist mule bucks, then Vinsula and on up the highway, Orchard Lake another, and what can a mule deer hunter do? Some hunters in Kammy don't go to Barriere anymore, they like Heffley and Orchard, closer and they get bucks easier they tell me.

I live in North Kammy you live close to Clearwater and you probably go to Kamloops more than I do. lol.
Vinny won't last long showing off his hat-rack like that. Some hunter is going to be pre-scouting his every move. Jelly-do-little

Jelvis
07-23-2008, 06:39 PM
I bet there's lots of hunters who have their eyes on Vinny. Of course he's a beauty. I guess Vinny wouldn't want to hear me call him that. lol. Of course he's a grand size muley, and yes there will be other bucks between Merritt and Vavenby that will be a slight bit bigger than Vinny so we'll take our chances on a booker. 180 and up typ and a 210 non typ. In the mountains and gullies. Keep a close eye on Vin and let us know if he does a disappearing act about August 31st. He didn't get that big being STUPID. Jel-vinsula Vinny!

dana
07-23-2008, 06:46 PM
So you are going to pass on all those dink 200 inchers so you can get a 210 buck? ;)

Jelvis
07-23-2008, 07:00 PM
You know what it's like hunting out in the bush up here in the mountains if you see a nice one. You haven't got a whole lot of time to ponder if your going to take em. Not only that how many 175 typs and 200 non-typs are you going to see in a decade. I'll see what takes place in a short while. Want to try up Noble Lake area this year around Griffen hill. Looks pretty darn good if you like hiking around when hunting. This season should be the best in along time. Wetter Spring, warm Summer. High gas prices will take it's toll on tourists as well. Jel
