I HATE YOU
I HATE YOU
I HATE YOU.

20 years of putting in for moose and nothing !!!

OK...I really don't hate you. Just the draw system I hate.

Good luck & have fun.

1) learn how to call.

I called in the first and only moose I shot. They can be tricky to find.

My advice is to listen to what your father in law or other have to say about the moose hunt.

Do lots of asking on what would be the best place to hunt in the area you got picked for.

Get maps and steady them look for lots of water ,small lake ,moose like the water.
Congrats on getting your first moose LEH ,good luck this fall on connecting with one and others.

5-13 is a huge area. is it for A, B, or C ? Where ever it is practise your calling. And if you see one look at where it is before you shoot, not after. Too many people have shot and then realize how bad it is going to be to get it out. Congratulations and good luck. Mike

Bring a cordless recipricating saw. Chain saw can make a mess. Meat bags not tarps. Or even poly used to insulate homes.
Shoot it up hill close to the road. And drop it with 1 shot so you dont have to chase it.

MAY????, unless your Superman, cutting him up is a fore gone conclusion!!!
Get yourself "Deer Processing 101" on DVD from just about any outdoor store.
Under $20. They cover deer, but a moose is just a BIG deer!!! Then ask lots of questions here.

Have you ever done a deer, or a bear?

If you have lots of rope and know how to use pullys you can get him in the truck if he is not to far.My famly has it set up if it is with in 1000yrds of the road we don't 1/4 it.I got a moose draw as well so if I get lucky I will take pics of how we do it for those who would like to see.If you do have to 1/4 and drag the 5piont harness deer dragger shure help and a friend with a strong back and a weak mind is always good to.
