And this guy is looking like a deer I would probably be happy too shoot. Probably going to be a decent little 5x5 by the time he's done. Not quite 'monster', but he's definitely 'shooter' (to me anyway). And a shooter I know where lives is better than 20 monsters I'll never see. :)

Amen to that :) And he's one heck of a deer too. Thank you very much for sharing.

Time to start practicing with the reeds (diaphrams), shooting the bow and hanging the trail cam...:biggrin:

Here's a couple more - snagged frames from the video camera that was jumping and shaking at 30x zoom, so not as clear, but you can get a much better view of him this way. His antlers are just at the end of his ears, so he can't be all that huge, but he's definitely huge enough for the likes of me - especially as he's another month or so to faten up and grow some more bone:

If you want to be free, tell us the truth, where is that buck exactly?

Sure, I don't mind being free. He's in the East Kootenays, less than an hour's drive from Cranbrook. :)

Well that is the truth, but vague truth at that. I think John was a bit clearer?

I didn't have my GPS on me and I had hiked in a bit - vague is the best I can do - I got no coordinates to work with. :)

WWJD. Mark 8:23. But can you do it without the moisture? I am free to go anytime. And I have never shot a buck, being a newer hunter.

Oh yeah, Adam. He's destined for your freezer for sure. Look at the body size on him. A couple of months worth of eating his face off will put even more pounds on him.

that looks just like the buck I saw yesterday in a field right on the outskirts of............. north of Cranbrook. He was with two other bucks lying down under a big fir to get out of the rain
