A few years ago, at my wife's grandparent's 60th aniversery, I asked one of my wife's aunts if she had any ol' time hunting and fishing pictures from the family. She said she would look and I never thought much about it until we received a CD in the mail the other day. It is awesome to have these pics that show my kids their family heritage.

browningboy,
These pics are from my wife's family. Thus far, I don't have too much background on the pics as my wife's aunt said she'll send that later. I do know that the gentleman in the first pic with the 2 highcountry muleys, is my wife's great grandfather. He built a cabin in that same basin. The rack of the dropper buck he is holding still hangs on the cabin wall.
Here's a pic of the rack.

Here are a couple pics I took of the cabin last summer.

Here my spotter is aimed pretty darn close to where he killed those bucks. I was glassin right from the porch of the cabin.

Great pictures and many thanks for sharing!! I have an old one of a couple, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Wendle, that lived in Barkerville. One of the ladys claims to fame is she used to hunt grizzly with a 22 Savage High Power. In the picture that's the rifle she is hold, posing with her husband and a couple of Grizzly hides.
I'd post the picture but thats something I have yet to figure out. Anyday now , unless someone could post it for me.

Thats a nice basin where the cabin is, smart how the cabin is built up for the snow , allows for a natural cooler down below all year I presume.
Any fish in the lake or does it get winter kill?

Awesome pics! I could look at them all day! (Notice the eagle--they said years ago in some areas of BC there were lots of eagles and they robbed traplines/ate the catch/ruined skins on small animals etc) We can't shoot em now for sure.
You are blessed to have these pics! Sigh-----wish I had some.

Thanks Dana. Those are terrific pictures. I especially like their huinting gear, I wonder what they would have to say about all of the high tech stuff that we could spend our money on. I'll bet all of that game was taken with iron sights.

These pics are of sheep hunters gone but not forgotten in my family. Their stories are what started the sheep hunting "fever" my father developed which soon spread to me.

The man on the left is my uncle, he hunted many many years passing on smaller rams and finally took that book ram in the photo. I carry the knife he used on that hunt everytime I leave for the bush.

Hey thanks guys, these pics mean alot to me, its nice to know they are appreciated.

4ster, not sure where the rifle is today, it went to his step-son, hopefully he still has it.

not sure what make it is, I thought it looked like a marlin? your the gun guy.....

Sometimes, when I am looking into all this gear and "BS" I use to hunt sheep today I laugh about what my uncle would say about it, and man could he could spot sheep with those old bins....

Here's picture of my Dad in 1942. The rifle is a 250 Savage M99 which I still have in my possession. I shot my first deer with it as did my son, daughter and grandson.
