My grlfriend suggested to me taking her out in the canoe for a day of relaxing fishing. Somewhere close to the lower mainland. I am not looking to catch record book lunkers, just some pan frys to introduce her to the sport. I have a few ideas for lakes but am up for more suggesions.

Allouette (it is close but am afraid with the size of it it will get choppy and I dont want her to get uneasy)

Mike lake ( I hear it is a pretty lake, lots of fish but I hear the fishing is a but tough with them getting wise to all the anglers in there )

Buntzen (very close to me but I have fished it before and got F all)

A smaller lake would ideal, somewhere I could paddle her around (and private beaches might work to my advantage!)

any other suggestions?

Try Alice Lk.
It used to be pretty easy to catch something.

I was up at Deer and Hicks lakes on the week end (Harrison) nice lakes, we did well fishing. Even the wife and kids managed a few.

Weaver lake is nice place to start. Lightning lake in manning is great too but a little further.
