well this was the second time i have hunted with kyle (baracuda) and this is the second bear we have taken. It was my turn today as we rounded a corner kyle spotted this guy and we pursued, he was running away pretty fast and kyle was able to stop him with his predator call, and that was his fatal mistake.First shot was in tight to his shoulder and busted that arm and got part of his lung, and the bugger decided that he didnt want to lay down and die so i touched of a second shot not sure where that one got him as he was running sideways across a hillside, but he didnt go much further before he had to lay down and catch his breath.Didnt really have a clean shot at him till he moved and dropped again and decided i wasnt going to watch him labor with his breathing and suffer so i put one morer in him to finish him off.It was an easy downhill drag to the truck and one lift onto the tailgate and the day was done.I have to thank kyle for another great day out, and his help.

It was a real good day out. The coat on that bear is stunning, the back on it is golden honey with red legs .

We had stopped a little section below this and called for a while and then decided to move up a little bit when. I first saw the bear he was head on going to where we had just called. soon as he saw us he just turned and ran for the trees so i blew the call and it stopped him.

Lloyd was getting into position for an unobstructed shot and the bear started to move again so once again i worked the call and once again the bear showed interest in me,(I was about forty yard to the right and down a bit from Lloyd) and was trying to figure out the noise .

We worked our way on the hill through the long grass and limeted cover and Lloyd got into a good position for a clear shot . He took the shot and and it was a good fatal hit, any other shot was simply an insureance policy to offer the bear a quicker way out of this world as all the shots were through his lungs.

I sure was glad that the bear expired in such an easy spot to deal with the cleaning and such . we simply rolled him to a grassy section of the hill and proceeded to clean him out , had the crap scared out of us when two dogs showed up to say hi  . Then we simply had to move him down hill towards the the logging road. .

it was a real productive day out and we were home in time for dinner

What more could you ask for:)
