Minor wounds........40 stitches, broken hand, dislocated shoulder.......Tough buzzard for sure.
I just hope ther isn't someone pulling chains like in the Alberta case.

This hunter came out on top with this attack ,he obviously did what he had to do and won the battle. Bad thing that happened to him but ended good.

I wonder how he managed to get some distance from the bear for the second shot? Usually they keep at a person till they stop moving. Perhaps the first shot slowed its reactions down. He's one lucky fellow.

The guy had a tag and was able to recover the hide with some help. That will make for a very special mount!

I think the moral of this story is that "Guns save lives".

at 2:20 PM ETIf a bear wandered into a town, most likely it would be killed by the people who live there. Why would anyone expect it to be any different if a person enters into bear territory? If a person travels into the wilderness, they are now part of the food chain for the animals that live there!

What an idiot!!!

Good job thinking in a deadly situation! Amazing story, would love to know more details.

I don't see the respectothers comment anywhere? Deleted? I know if a bear enters north vancouver they spend my tax dollars tranqing it, driving it up the coq. and let it go again, rather they would shoot it.

If that is the case so be it ,at least he saved his life even if it is true with the illegal transportation of the fire arm. You would think that if that was the case they would consider that he was in a bit of shock and not in his right mind and they would pass on this offence ???.

There is a real hole in his recounting of the story. If he really had a dislocated shoulder, no power in his body would have allowed him to shoulder a rifle and take a shot using both hands. Regardless of the adrenalin in his system, it just mechanically wouldn't work. So either his shoulder wasn't really dislocated (or it popped out and back in), or something fishy is happening in his retelling of the story.
