This past weekend my hunting buddy got his second grizzly with a bow. We've been looking and trying since early April, and as is usually the case the shot was over in minutes. The recovery took quite a bit longer.

Good stuff. That is some accomplishment, deserves a feather in the hat.
The woods look rather dense  !!

Right on!! That is a dream of mine that I hope to accomplish this fall if I am fortunate enough to draw a tag.

Nicely done, that's how I'd take a grizz too.

good job. one of the hardest hunts to do with a bow IMO. I tried 2 years ago when I had a tag we just never could find a bear. It is the only way I would take a grizz. Maybe one day.

Yeap, it's quite an accomplishment.

Was it a ground hunt (stalk), or did you hunt him from a stand?

Congratulations

It must take a lot of nerve to get that close with a sharp stick. LOL
Well done guys.

This is the kind of stuff that separates the men from the boys. Good work. Signing off, The Boy

Which guy in the picture shot it? The young guy looks like a guy from a picture in the Wild Sheep Society's magazine Wild Sheep Forever. If it is the same guy, he took a Stone Sheep with his bow this year too.

What was used for equipment?

I think it was a crossbow! :-D

Awesome job boys, not too often we get to hear of a grizz taken with archery equipment!

By saying "young guy" you are implying that I look old!!http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Yes, same guy that took a Stone ram last year with a bow.

To answer Onesock's question. We both shoot identical rigs. It's real handy in remote country. Mathews Drenalin @ 70lbs, 29" draw, Spot Hogg seven pin with wrap, G5 Meta peep, drop-away rest and on the business end; NAP 100gr Spitfires.
