Spent the last two days hitting some local lakes. Was skunked at hmm, I'll call it lake "A" yesterday. Tried leech patterns, and bored myself to death with chironomids, but nothing. Took the bow out for sh!ts and giggles, but the only bear I saw was a sow with three cubs. Today I went to lake "B" and was rewarded with 5 'bows and a bonus brookie. Biggest bow was roughly 21 inches, but of course my dexterity with a camera was found wanting when holding a lively fish in the other hand, and I failed to get the picture. For anyone who is interested, flip me a pm for the lakes. I can't be bothered trying to defend myself. I didn't take the bow today and of course could have had a twenty yard shot at a smallish bear. All in all, a great weekend to be out of the house, enjoying our all too short summer.
