5am I leave for five days of hunting for my LEH draw. Same place as last year, lucky me! My partners were in there last weekend for a quick 2 day hunt, seen one grizz from across valley, but couldn't find sign of him when they moved in.

Gear is packed, let's see if I can get an X bullet dirty!

pics and story (hopefully a good one) will be coming! adios

Five days of hunting, I personally didn't see a grizz nor did I find much sign of them. One of my partners had a quick chance at a smaller lone grizz in his zone (bordering MU zone) on his way in driving to his spot. It vanished into the timber pretty quick. I had alot of chances on blackies, even a few good ones (one especially good - one on grassy road in pics). I didn't want to spoil the grizz hunt by having to go home and deal with the bear meat so I passed. I would guess 6'6", maybe a bit more. Certainly the biggest black bear I would have gotten to take.

Near where the bridge sign was busted down and chewed up, there was a buried moose kill. This is most likely the work of the big boar we had a shot last spring and tracked for 2km. Next year...8)

hah! :D The pic actually wasn't taken by me, it was taken by my girlfriend back in camp. Or else you would of seen the back legs holdup pic  Even so she had the 280 ready...she must be scared of wolves because she usually wont touch a rifle

All kidding aside, you should have nailed the wolf!

the biggest black was seen on the evening of the first day of the five day hunt..I didnt want to have to go back to town 3 hours one way to take the meat to a cool spot to hang, Id lose at least a day of hunting. My focus was finding a grizz 8-) And for the wolf, I didnt see it, the pic was taken by my girlfriend back in camp when I was hunting

Cool looking trip man! And I made a beer out of it too boot! Sorry to hear you didnt catch one though. I was really looking forward to the read. Last years story was awsome! You gave it your best and didnt have to work, so you were better off than I was. Man I would love to bag a grizz, another blackie, or a wolf.

Good trip and more experience.

That damn wolf knew you weren't around or he wouldn't have stood there looking so bloody stupid.

Why is it so hard for some people to understand that some guys don't want to drop every animal they see ?

He was on a GRIZZLY HUNT !!!

I have a buddy that insists on not ruining a perfectly good hunting trip by shooting something LOL... Now that is the total opposite...

Looks like you had a good trip even though you came home with no grizz.
