Near Vernon, British Columbia, Canada.

These photos were taken on October 12, 2007 while conducting a post harvest inspection.
We first spotted this grizzly bear in a plantation; she was about 20 meters from us. After realizing this mother had a cub, we briskly headed to our truck which was parked about 200 meters from where we first noticed her.
We realized she was headed towards our parked truck so we waited for her. To our surprise and for our enjoyment she appeared on the road with three cubs.
Enjoy watching this rare and majestic animal and please notice their silver tipped hair.
John Friesen, R.P.F. Regional District of North Okanagan
NOTE :
This animal can be very aggressive and deserves great respect, so I don't suggest anyone get this close, if you happen to encounter one

Obviously a fake picture. Everyone knows there are no grizzlies or wolves in the OK;-). Must be Alaska:p.

Very nice pic ,I sure would not to run into her with her 3 cubs if I had a full load of meat on my back.

shot a really nice mature 5x4 mulie last year, but couldnt get it out that night as it chose to runn like a km into the bush. so we made a stretcher out of logs and put the deer 6-7 feet off the ground on top of fall-down trees.the next morning at day break i was in the same bush with buddies and packs and we came over the hill and there was a big bore grizz layin beside my deer. had him half eaten and pretty much totally buried in logs and stumps.. it was a piss off i had to leave it.. still have to get up there and find those antlers.. never did get to fill my tag on a mulie last year.

i was near oyama lake outside winfield and vernon.. thats the first grizz i seen up there.. ive seen a few further south around brunette main - philpot area but not oyama lake... the buck had really unique bladed rear forks with the 7-8 inch fifth point comming straight out of the first split.. was a nice buck.. gonna go get the rack this year

Great pics!! I saw a sow grizz and 2 cubs just NE of Aberdeen lake a few years back, that was a sight to behold. They had a 2-point Muley, dragging it across the road....very cool .
I have a question about winbuckhunter's comment, if you shot & killed a nice Mulie how is it that you didn't fill your tag? Tag should have been cut once you found him. Not trying to hi-jack the thread, just confused .

You've met our biologist too eh!

By the way where's "Gunner" on this topic, I'm sure it's him that has video of Griz's in the N. OK.

Anyone hear of the LEH winners for reg 8, and their success ? or lack of ?

Sorry boxhitch, I'll re-word. If you read the comment, the statement made was, " Never did get to fill my tag on a mulie last year. "
Dead deer= Filled tag, I know what the Provincial bag limit is and that has nothing to do with the question asked.

Adams, sorry about that, my first thought to 'fill' was to take one home, as opposed to just cutting or burning (going unused) a tag. Lingo I use, so seemed clear to me.
I sure didn't mean to infer you didn't know the Regs. Like I said, WAG only.

Two years ago I shot a big as moose down the Teslin river..with my good friends help Tim and Vic we managed to get all the meat cut off and hauled to the boat and back to camp..

We had left the moose rack till the next AM to cut off the skull..well we rounded the bend and headed for the gut pile and carcass..as we use the NO-GUT method..and there standing majestically with one front leg on the "moose " and the other waving defiantly in the air was a beautiful BIG silvertip..just so great top see them in the wild...

He faced us off at 25 yards..we are brave when in the boat..lol ..and then he retreated and we cut the rack off..one guy always looking around with a rifle at the ready..magnificant creatures...
