Martyonthewater and myself were out hunting this weekend in region 8. We saw lots of sign and food for bears so we had a good feeling we were at least going to see a bear. We ran into Steelco's hunting party and had a quick chat about all the sign in the area. After that we continued our search, we were only at it for two hours when I spotted this boar running full tilt for the tree line. Marty and i gave quick chase to close up the distance. The bear probably ran 250 yards to the sparse trees. He slowed down to a walk. We had run a 100 yards, I lined him up and BOOM with the 7mm rem mag. Hit him high, above the front shoulder in the spine but he still managed to run another 50 yards. I gave him one more followed by marty right after that. This guy is my largest bear and marty's first bear hunt. We are both still grinning ear to ear. You know the feeling! We measured him at 5' 7". I'm going to ask Steelco to post some pics cause i have no idea how to.

Thats a good bear, right on guys.
He's been doing a lot of digging, claws are worn down pretty good.

nice bear !!!!!!!!!!! but I think you should re measure him,looks bigger than a 5' 7" bear to me...good job :smile:

Marty stopped by on his way back to the coast and showed me the hide. Beautiful full coat of hair. Going to be a nice rug.
