Well, we werent really blackbear hunting but nonetheless we come home with one.
Spotted this bear from across the valley a few hours before dark, he didnt stand in the slide for very long and he slipped back into the trees we really had a suspicion of it being a grizz . so to make a long story short, we drove as far as we could to get as close as possible and the road had washed out about 7 kilometers from the slide that the bear was feeding in. at this time it was about 6 o'clock and we had to make a mile so we packed up and put on our walkin boots, rolled into the slide around 7:30 and the bear was nowhere to be seen, well, we've gone this far so we might as well keep walking, we get maybe another half a kilometer and theres a fresh shit on the road, 200 yards beyond this is the bear standing in the middle of the road feeding, instantly we knew it wasn't what we were looking for but, its a nice looking bear, and we're only a little better than 7 clicks ffrom the truck, why not shoot it and PACK it out :x I would have really liked to stick it with an arrow but he wasnt having that so some trigger happy fellow I was with... No names mentioned! shot this bear, me being the youngest when it was all said and done I ended up packing it the whole way back to the truck and I didn't even shoot it, but thats what life is all about I guess, It was a good trip, didn't come across any grizz but some hog blacks and nice color phase bears, we'll be going back I would imagine
