Just got back from a 4 day bear trip..rained and blew the entire trip..well maybe 2o minutes of sun in the 4 days....

Saw a couple of nice silvertips and a big brown grizzly...all were 7 foot bears.....lots of rabbits this year..and snow is melting FAST...floods all over the Horsefly area..

Saw 8 black bears non big enough to cut a tag.

Saw a BIG cougar...moose and deer and WHITETAIL deer

Bigbore 14 came up for 2 days..no big bears for him either..

Way up at 4400 feet elevation I was riding the quad past a stand of trees when something "large AND BLOCKY and red went through the trees and headed away..I tried to see what the hell it was it was as big as a moose..perhaps 7 feet tall...just a estimate of being tall and blocky and perhaps 500 pounds...

I did see several live moose (and 3 winter kills??) and they all were the normal colors...I have never seen a moose this reddish type color..and there are no elk up there...the movement was smooth and I shut off the machine and glass ed the area never seen anything more...and I was not interested in going up for a look,....I do not know what it was I am totally stumped...I saw maybe 4 seconds..

One more outing for bears in a weeks time...

I was talking with my psychiatrist...er one of the guys from work and he said he has seen "redish ' colored cow moose in the spring..

I need to take up drinking so I have an excuse for "seeing things" maybe ALI could teach me????

I am NOT saying it was a Sasquatch..I am not sure what the heck it was...

great trip...

I guess you didn't check out the tracks, eh?

Maybe you've got elk moving in to the area?

I'd say you saw an elk Steven. Elk are showing up in places previously unoccupied every year.

They're like a bad weed, spreading further and further south. You will never get rid of them.

I recall moose used to be virtually non-existent throughout the Chilcotin!

It could have been a moose going through a change from its winter coat or a big mule deer ???.
