I was out bear hunting the other day, and saw a grizzly feeding in an old abandoned field. that was surrounded by some smaller trees.
So I crept closer, of course...I popped out at the fence line, and realized it was a sow with a yearling cub!!
The wind was in my favour, so I crept out past the fence, took a coupel of pics (with no zoom on this camera, unfortunatley) and then I felt the wind change.
Sow popped her head up and saw me, I put camera in pocket and started to back away. She took a step toward me, so I made sure the rifle was ready and I just backed out real quick...:)

Or maybe the proprietary 30/30 WSM.

Awesome pics, but I'd stick to vamoosing when it comes to grizz, especially when it involves mom/cub.

SOme other (crappy) pics I took with my camera, prior to the battery dying. I wasn't on good footing...But this shows how we spotted the bear and moved closer.

Warning too the people of Pemby and Whistler:
Gatehouse is a stalker.

The fact that he also has the 'shakes', makes it even MORE scary!

I had to use one hand to shoot the camera, as the other hand held The New King of the .375's...

Rationalise it however you want. Still sounds like "Noooo, not ME!"
Cool pic's though!

The other weekend, I got a chance to see a very lg sow w/ 2 babes of the year, from ~30 yrds. Not much for photo opp's as she was pretty focused on getting the kids outta there in a hurry.

One of the cubs was a nosey little squirt; it stopped momentarily for a classic look over the shoulder at me. Momma's ass was as wide as this dining table that I sit at.

Never have I seen a Grizz in this area before, but have seen fresh tracks in the fall, while deer hunting (NW Adams Lk. ish). COOL!
