The boys and I took off Saturday AM for an overnight camping trip for blackies (we sent mom off to the big city for a kid free weekend).
Spotted this guy at ~ 2:00 in the afternoon buy couldn't connect.
We spent the day doing a little hiking, a little driving, and just enjoying the many moose, grouse, and bear sightings in between rock throwing sessions at any available water source we could find.
We returned to the little out of the way hideout this guy was calling home at ~6:30, and caught him crossing a little swamp...a 150yd took him through the ribs, and a quick follow up through the shoulders added a little insurance.
He had an amazing hide, and is now residing at the taxidermist (to preserve the memory of the first annual "Boys Only" bear hunt)
After packing out the hide/quarters, we washed up at a small creek and drove until we found a suitable place to camp for the night (3 of us crammed into my 2 man sheep tent).
Woke up this AM, fed the kids, and then spent the next 4 hours meandering home and making a few stops along the way to hike and enjoy the day with the boys.
Sorry about the picture quality...seem to be a little grainy after the upload/resize.
