Ive been glassing this remote ridge out for a few years, telling myself, one of these days im gonna hike up there. last weekend I finally did it, it was extremely steep and rugged hour and a half, and I never did reach the top. But I did find this old 180 class set sitting right where I figured sheds might lie. this side had a couple cheaters and the G-2 was actually shot off by a bullet!!! Anyone here???

The match was only 30 feet away!

And the set re-united.

I pounded the area for a couple hours and only found 1 other shed from the same year these were dropped. was a very large 3 point.

I swept over another of my favorite shed spots the same day and scouped this sucker, it didnt score too well but had alot of weight to it. I tried to match it up but no luck!

Today I got up early and hiked for a few hours to beat the heat. I hiked a ridge that I probably hiked 5 times last year as I was trying to match up a couple big ones. Today as I was leaving the ridge, with my vehicle in sight I cought this out of the corner of my eye.

I must have been within 50 yards of this several times but it was in a thicket with some blowdown around it, so it never got searched. Immediately I knew it was the match to the biggest shed I found last year only a 100 yards away.

This beauty has a 26" main beam and 5 1/4" H-4. Even with weak bases, and no brow tines he measures at 85".

Heres the set together again over a year later. The side I found last year only tapes at 77". I figure about a 23" inside spread, this buck grossed about 185", making it the best set to date for me!

Ironically, his right was the first shed of the year last year and his left was the last shed ive picked up this year, bringing my season total to 80!!!

Ok Im done!

Great work Mark. Sometimes it pays to hike up into the thick crap and dig around where you know no one else goes. I love seeing your shed pics, you find some real bruisers. And that set you matched up is a real beaut!

I see shedding was good for you this year. Wear the soles of your boots out. Yes it is nice to match up sets.

everyones entitled to their own opinion, which pic doesnt look like a match to you???? I can guarantee you, if you saw and held them yourself, youd certainly agree about every single set ive ever posted! As well I usually find them within 100 yards or less of each other!

Marky mark even if you found them 100 yards or closer doesnt always meant hey are a match some of my biggest sheds were only 10 feet apart and off 2 different bucks:eek: But then again i have not seen them in person but would like to some day we shoudl do a meet and greet shed hunt next season and show off some big bc bone!

A shed show off day would be great! Ive found lots of sheds very close to each other that wern't sets, but I think I know a set when I see one!
At least I post pics, unlike some big talkers around here ;)
