Nice pics Steve.

Question for you on the tent.....did you have a ground sheet down or did you find it damp with it set up on the sand? Just curious how much the stove eliminated the moisture?

MB Boy,
Didn't have a ground sheet, just some blue sleeping foamies. It was warm out so I didn't even light the fire. Didn't expect it to pour like it did over night. Was a little damp in the morning but that was because I hadn't seam sealed it yet. I've seam sealed it now though. Gonna be using it again this long weekend.

Rifleman,
No bears have hit the dirt yet. Still a little early on the green. A month behind but I expect with the high temps they are calling for this weekend, it should green up fast.

Road conditions were pretty good. Lots of cars parked at the planter camp on the 40. The short access road into the camp site might be ruff for a car though. Glassed the goats right from the picnic table. :)

as long as it is not worse than getting into the site halfway down the lake i should be fine! I was thinkin of going that way for may long, but it will probably be occupied before i can get there sat night.

nice pics!

Wildfoot,
I've found that on May Long, the main site at the mouth of the river fills up with campers, but the other sites seem to have room. This past weekend we had the whole place to ourselves.
If you do go, keep an eye on those cliffs from the first lake on through to the campsite. I've seen goats practically right on the road before. Seems the nannys and kids like the first lake and the billys like the cliffs above the second lake.

Curious if that is the same rock we had a road running past from a few years ago. If so its a good lunch spot!

Nice pics, cheers
