Very nice bear. Interesting colour, looks part wolverine.
Need more story..... Where was he hunting? What cartridge? How far? How many shots? Did he wrestle it with a knife?

Hey folks, sorry to keep you waiting on the story, my buddy Quenton shot this bear with a 340 weatherby, it took three shots to bring him down, He has been hunting grizzlies for a few years now and has spent a lot of time scouting. This time he was rewarded with this awsome bear. If you are familer with Fort Nelson you might have run into Al Parker, he owns the taxidermy shop in town and has been doing it forever, when he seen it, all he could do is run his hands over the back hair saying O my god is this a nice bear. As far as the story, Quenton told me that him and his buddy decieded to go up a river drainage for a look, and when they came up over the bank they noticed this bear down river along the other river bank feeding, they backtracked down river and when they came back over the bank he was about 80 yards up river, he must of senesed something but could not smell them being up wind. As he stood up to look over the willows, Quenton got to see just how big he was, then he waited for the bear to go back to all four and step out in to the clear, then he let him have er. the bear only went about 10 yards. As for the mount I'm pretty sure he is going to do a life size mount. The skull was roughed in about a 16th under boone&crokett, so he is in the process of getting it rescored to find out if it made book. I've known Quenton for some time now, and could not be happier for him.
