Bear skining Question

Can anyone shed some light on the proper procedure for skining a bear for a rug mount. The stomach, front legs is pretty standard, I guess my question is the back legs. Do you go from the heel to the arshole or do you start the cut somewhere else?

Heel to anus, but look for the change in hair length as a guide as to what line to follow....

You will see a definite line of short versus long hair...

Note: Ask how much the rug will cost and see if you want an eating bear or a rug bear.

the cut from the back legs towards the middle is not a huge concern since the belly doesn't get used anyway. you can go a little ways up towards the junk if it makes it easier. just my way of doing it, not necessarily the right way but so far so good.

This line is critical, so the finished rug has the suitable hourglass shape. Do it wrong, and the Tguy will be cutting and moving a patch, leaving stitch marks.
