Took my daughter with me for a drive today just before noon. Saw three bears, two deer and tonnes of grouse. The first bear we saw was of very good size and fat, 150 yards away. I could have got within 50 yards if I had climbed off the steep bank. But if I had shot it right on spot, I would have had to leave my daughter in the truck and went through some bitchy bush and steep bank to get it out. And I didnt have four guys to carry it out for me. So after some long intense struggle I decided to give it up.

The second one was 100 yards up on a steep hill. If I had shot it, it could have rolled right into the truck. But the smart guy didn't give me a clean shot. About the same size as the first one.
The third one was spotted on our way out. It was ridiculously big and fat. But it was on a private property. :biggrin:
But both we are happy. Had a good day.
