Any suggestions on where to get a zipper for a sleeping bag fixed and how much it should cost me? It is an older down bag that was given to me as a gift years ago. I do not know of anyone that sells the brand anymore -"Gerry".

Try taking it to a drycleaner - they usually have a seamstress available as most do alterations as well.

Not sure about cost though.

good luck

I have taken items that need new zippers to a luggage repair store.
Get an estimate. Might be cheaper than buying a new sleeping bag.

A little tip.
Get whoever can do the repair to cut just behind the teeth of the old zip but do not take it all apart. It is easier to sew anew zip to this tab part of old zip.

I was gonna say if you were in Kamloops, go to Big Boot Inn and those guys will fix anything, just had expensive lawn chairs re sewed.and very reasonable.

COuldnt see it being more than $20 at any sewing/seamstress shop.
If people knew where you lived you might get more replies or ideas.

I got mine fixed last year at a tailor in the Chwk mall. Careful though, zipper replacement is not cheap. Some dry cleaners will do it too.
