This is a pic of the bear thats in smithers. It was shot in the exact same area as the houston bear. the houston bear is believed to be this guys dad. i cant find any of my pics of the one in houston but you can see it displayed at the info center right off highway 16

One of the guys I work with knows one of the guys in that picture, from what I understand it is a Tumbler Ridge area animal - for whatever that is worth.

OK my bad, lol.The bear I'm talkin bout iz in fact the one thought ta be the bear on the tractor,s dad.Shot last october by bc cattlemen,s association officer kyle lay, just west of houston.I have a pic from The "houston today archive" but my scanner toasted.Perhaps someone could retreive it.An awesomely brute fer sure.Says the article-"The 975lb bear was killed because it had killed livestock in the area".

The first big grizz that was shot around Hungry Hill is on display in the Smithers airport. The second one (the one you are talking about....I think) is on display at the Houston info center. Right by the giant fly rod.

IIRC the bear 1st bear, from Hungry hill, really isn't a very big boned critter, just obese, from dining on lots of beef. Now at the airport.
This other truelly looks like a big friggin bear. I doubt they are related, but it makes for a story.
