I spent most of the day out with my son looking for FSR's near Hope, found a lot of snow blocking the roads as soon as we gained a little altitude. No bears but we did see one pretty fresh set of tracks in the snow..

My young lad is in Chilliwack and would like another bear and my daughter is also interested in tagging along, any tips on where to look that is reasonably close to the FV would be appreciated.

Cheers

shooter and i were out today, nice sunny day out cool wind, and the snow was still low. not much for bear sign. we did see a lot of elk sign. on the last two trips out we have seen a lot of wolf tracks in spots i have hunted for the past fifteen years,i am not liken that to much,we will be keeping a very close eye on that area.

I dont think that the hunting trip will be very productive before May 1 this year. We are still expecting another dump of snow next week.

With the weather being so unseasonable, they don't appera to have crawwled out of their dens in any great numbers yet. Probably another week or two. Got my new licence & tag so I'm ready when they are.

4 or 5 year grizz destroyed at a farm mile 147 AH. He was eaten chickens and turkeys and being a little bit agresive towards land owners. CO's drove up and dispatched him. Seen grizz tracks in the valley since the 23 of march. No sightings yet.

Tried multiple areas in 3-15, 3-16 this weekend but once the road bent through trees and shadows it was snow snow snow 2-3ft in some places so had to turn back. Most exciting even was a super fresh bear poopsicle that was no moore than an hour old. It was the only bear sign we saw no tracks yet. I'm waiting at least another 2 weeks

Was up by Bonaparte, doing some road hunting. Saw a nice bear in good health. Saw him at the last minute and was gone by the time I was out and up and loaded of the truck. Seen some bear scat on smaller grassy roads.

Steven

A bunch of us are getting together for a weekend'er, in a couple more weeks.... I'll be happy to show you 'mine' IF you show me 'yours'-----> 1st! ;-)

Haven't a clue as to what's crawling around locally. The snow levels are still pretty low. If I were to go out tomorrow, I'd probably check out the action on the beach and estuaries.

Steven;
If I hunted solely for the taking of game, I would've quit after year 1

For us, its not about 'getting', its about adventure.
You're honey pot would be 1/2 the co$t EASY,,,but I wouldn't trade even for it -You'd still end up owing me. And I'm sure you'd say the same for yours.

I head up that way for several other reasons. Having a chance to go remote and hunt Bears, is only a bonus (Gods Truth).

I plan on taking the biggest black bear this year! I have one thing on my side niether of you do, begginers luck, and mad photoshop skills! I hope this is as easy as everyone seems to make it. Drive around, load the gun once out of the truck, break shoulders. How hard could it be? Maybe I am over thinking or over planing. I did get out last weekend for a little cruise down the vedder river. Didnt see any sign, no poop, or tracks, but then again, maybe I didnt know what I was looking for. Just picked up the new scope tonight though, and trying to get it mounted. They want $45 to mount it!!! Even if I dont get a black bear though, I am sure I can photoshop one in. muhhahahaha
On a serious note, has anyone ever hunted the elaho valley in upper squamish? Supposedly there can be bears there. I think there might be snow, but am planning first weekend of may to scout it out.

Mr. Dean

Howdy BTW.

The bears are out in Squamish, I had a close encounter with a large boar last night that pushed my gate down and dragged my garbage can out of the backyard. A slingshot and a large marble moved him along. I saw 2 at mile 23 on the squamish on Sunday night as well. If they did not taste so damn gross I would think about shooting one with my bow.

Saw a bear yesterday right beside the #1 just past the Annis() Rd. exit. From the quick look I got he seemed pretty small, but it was the first one I've seen this year.

Its still pretty snowy up here in 100 Mile House once you venture to the woods. I haven't heard of any out and about yet but they cant be too much longer. With the snow forecast for the weekend I might postpone the first trip of the year for a bit:roll:.
