Has anyone been to Ross lake yet I was thinking of going bear hunting this weekend.I was just hoping to save a drive if the snow is still around.

the snow line was about at Silver lake level. Was up there week and a half ago shooting in the first gravel pit and still quite a bit of snow on the ground. Also a heads up they are doing heli work up there and using the first gravel pit as a fueling area.

I wonder if they are logging or knocking down the beetle killed trees on the east slopes of the valley?

Either way, with all that traffic the critters will be spooked!! Imagine waking up to some dude and his chainsaw???

The heli with the bucket was fertilizing immature fir north side of Silver lake and there was a 214 logging at about 28km but have been gone since last Friday. Should be just bear hunters and pot growers in there now.

Just a reminder that Skagit Valley Provincial Park is closed to the discharge of firearms from April 1 to Sept 9. I'd hate to see somebody get caught hunting in the park for not picking up on that in the regs.

Skagit Valley Park . . . . . . . . . .(MU 2-2)
is open to the discharge of firearms from
Sept 10 to Mar 31only during a lawful
game hunting season.

Have a look west of the "limit hole" above Slesse creek. (Chilliwack river) An area called "Larson's bench" I know a guy that had to pull his scout troop out of there last spring because there were too many bears?

Firearm

- includes a device that propels a

projectile by means of an explosion, compressed
gas or spring and includes a rifle,
shotgun, handgun, pellet gun, "BB" gun or
spring gun but does not include a bow.

What do you make of that??
