This fellow was a first day gift on a goat draw in the Kooteneys last
fall. We talked to a young fellow when we got into town and he told us if
we were looking for a mule deer to go up _ _ _ _ _ creek.
We had 2 hours of daylight left so we went for a look and spotted romeo
here sniffing his way up the hill after four does, worked our way around the valley and got to the does about 30 seconds before him. A 100 yd broadside shot through the lungs and it was all over.

A Smoker Buck! Congrats Big Time! A net score would never do a buck like that any justice. Nets are indeed for fish.

Hunted the same biily all week, got screwed by the weather a couple times. Had him within 100 yds on the last day in a water draw but it was so thick and steep I couldn't get on him.
My partner had us both in the spotting scope from below when the three other goats winded me and came across the draw at 125 yds but the big guy went up into the timber , it was 3 pm by this time and it took 2 hrs to get off the hill so my time was up.
I had planned on lifesizing him so if I got him that nite it would have been one late very ugly walk out as I fell at least 5 or 6 times on the way down in the daylight. I guess him and I could have snuggled up for the night but have you ever smelled a billy goat in the rut
