I don't know anything about bows and my son wants to start bow hunting. He needs a bow that will work for a number for years.Something that willbe good for deer and bear. He is 5'4" 115lbs any suggestions would be good as far bows and accessories. His first deer he stalked to 20 yards and shot it in its bed. not bad for a ten year old. Last year he made a perfect shot on a monster black bear at 120 yrds. I guess he thinks he needs more of a challenge.lol thanks for any suggestions

take him down your nearest archery shop and get him fitted out, theres a large selection in lots of price ranges. what ever you spend on a bow, plan on spending the same on gadgets .quivers, arrows, broadheads, releases, stabilisers,re sts, sights etc.etc.etc

also try to get a bow with adjustable draw weight and draw length so it can grow with him

We just got my 11 yr old a Diamond Edge, and he's loving it. Its adjustable from 25-40 lbs, and I think up to 26"? draw. Your boy might be able to handle something a bit heavier. My guys 4'10" and 85 lbs, and right now I think he's pulling about 32 lbs. Just about got his first kill the other day (gopher).

PSE Spyder is what my boy and girl started with, lots of draw adjustment and weight adjustment.Take him to an archery store and have him try some to see what one fits the best.

Check what's for sale here and then go from there. You're right to get something with lots of room to grow into. PSE products have a good reputation for a wide adjustability range, plus they are quality stuff.

I would also suggest the Browning Micro Midas, they have the best adjustability of any of the bows out there and would last him through his growing years, and being so adjustable they have great re-sale value.

I would give a huge thumbs-up to the Martin Jaguar.
I got one that goes 45-60lbs and 25-30", it wasn't very expensive but it has just about the highest range of adjustment out there. It's also available as 30-45" with just a different set of limbs. I also find it very light compared to many bows. The stoped making them this year so finding a couple year old brand new stock one isn't too hard.
Cheers,
Grant
