I think most of us outdoors folk have been to what I call "places of power"....spots of incredible views or beauty -perhaps a spot on a lake, a mountain ridge or top, a cove, bay or beach on the ocean...I need to be in these places periodically to recharge my "soul"...

On the island here we have port renfrew. I have a spot out there that you can quad into and go about 30 km in all directions. Once you get to the top of the mountain you're above the clouds and usually in the mist even hunting bears in June there's always fog and the eery sound of grouse hooting in the distance. I've had spring days you can only see 50'. Cougars crying like babies elk calling bears huffing and me with my predator call sitting on a hill alone for 5 hours with a predator call. Wouldn't trade it

Awe I was just looking back at all my pics from my 2 stone sheep hunts this year and it gave me anxiety from not being able to go up there right now!! A friend of mine is guiding on a premiere tag right now and the pictures are torture haha lol!!

Umm as I was cooking a caribou steak inbthe backyard tonight the northern lights kicked up...

It reminded me of the night after I got my caribou moved to elk camp. Cooking a caribou steak the northern lights lit up on the ski and a metour shower erupted at that moment bulls started bugling as I sipped my beer and puffed on my cigar feeling the warmth of the fire.

The excitment of what the morning will bring....

it isnt just the high mountain vista that do it for me...all the places in nature where there seems to be an energy emanating all around..i call them "places of power" where you can feel your internal batteries recharge as you breathe...waterfalls, closed canopy forests, quiet corners of a lake with a beach or rocky point...and of course the mountain vistas all keeping us nature freaks sane

Glad to hear I'm not off floating on my own, this has been my computor desktop for the last year. It takes me to a good place when ever I need a boost. It is a camp that we had for 7 days at 5300 ft while bow hunting stones.
