Hi Ken..yes we didnt have the correct stuff to keep the velvet on and by the time we got to camp it wasnt saveable..I agree Andys Taxidermist did a great job on dying the rack from stained white to pretty darn good brown..the darn bou is mount almost to the floor in order to hang on the wall...

Awesome pics guys. No doubt that is on my 'to do' list as well.

Here is a pair of sheds I found of a Southern Interior bull. An extremely rare find. For an avid shed hunter, a find of a lifetime. Too bad I found them at the killscene. A grizz took down the bull. Was the first of 2 confirmed grizzly kills last year. Not a good sign for a struggling herd.

Thanks. Actually we couldn't hunt the caribou for over 3 hours after John saw him. The bull wandered off down the lake and we had to wait until at least 6 hours had past since we flew in. We didn't figure we'd see him again but I spotted him bedded in some willows and John put the stalk on him. I think the shot was around 80 or 100 yards. Mine was a different matter as he was on the lake shore and we had to plunge down the mountain for 45 minutes to intercept him.

Here's another souther interior caribou shed I found in the highcountry several summer's back. I actually was putting on the stalk on a cool little nontypical muley with a dropper in order to get some video footage of him. I was slowly creeping along in the high alpine veg, when my boot clunked against something. I looked down and couldn't believe my luck. A fresh mountain caribou shed. I tried in vain to find the match.

Tanya's hubby John here;

This one was at fifteen feet and we couldn't shoot him because of the 6 hour after you fly rule.

Did manage to find him again though.

She outdid the whole camp when we went to the NWT.

John/Tanya, did your caribou come out of Misty or Arrowhead? Looks kinda like arrowhead to me.

If I can't get a world record blacktail before I die, next on the list is a book caribou. I love their antlers!

My legs are sore from bowling yesterday:redface:.

Maybe we should get some ponies or maybe get a saddle for your new pooch?:-D

When I talked to the wilderness wanderer people yesterday I asked about the bags so the pooch can pack out 25-30 pounds so I dont have too.:biggrin:
Your kids are old enough now, they should be able to pack some weight:mrgreen:

I see an electric fence in this pic, do any of you use these around your tents other than just for holding the horses in check? I see it around his cabin, do they keep the teddies away?
