have you hunted in the same general area for moose, deer, elk, bear etc...

I have read that lots of people move around looking for their game.... my Dad started hunting moose south of Vanderhoof in 1964-5 and we have hunted the area ever since...(I started hunting this area in 1970!)

I have hunted up the Coq. highway since it has opened with good success too for deer and wouldn't dream of going elsewere.....

Tried Harrison for far too long, then one fateful day tried the Coq. Now we've a few excellent spots to hang our hats. With a new one in the works, right Mike :wink:

I hunt around home every year, but like to go to different places. One of the best parts of hunting is the adventure and seeiing new turf.

Moose........same area since 1981
Elk.............same area since 1997
Deer...........same area since 2001

Having said that we always try a place if we have done our homework and feel its worth a look, moose and deer spots are isolated and we seldom see anyone.

I have one spot in region 8 that I hit for a couple of days every year. I like to think of it as my secret spot but it sees alot of quads and road hunters, but no one ever puts in any time on foot so once you are off the trail it is pretty well untouched. Oddly enough I have only taken one deer out of the area but I know there is some cranker mulies in there. I am not sure if I keep going back for the chance at a monster or if it is just because there are some beautiful south slopes with some of the biggest larch trees I have ever seen and usually pull the pack off, lean the rifle on it and sit down against one of those trees and have a nap for a couple of hours in the afternoon sun.
