First off, I apologize and understand if you can't see much here. I was manoeuvering myself into position for a shot and trying to tape at the same time. This guy showed up mid afternoon in Sept. Two reasons he isn't dead. I wasn't confident, and he never gave me the golden broadside shot. I REALLY hope to meet this bear again. How big? I have a guess, but I don't have any clue as to how close it may be. Distance about 150m

"dink" porcupine :wink: Man I wish I didn't have to drive so far north to get the selection of bears you have.I think I will have to try the north island next!!

Thank you for tearing down what little self esteem I have left as a videographer.

If you question the size of a decent looking blacky then it is typically in the 5.5' to 6' range. If it's a hawg (7') you don't need to ask - you'll just shoot! From this footage all I can say is that it looks decent. If the hide looks good and it's a first bear then take him.

Tinney I can't see it clear enough to give you a size on it. It does look like a decent looking size from what I could See from the clipping.http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif.

you either gotta get a better camera with higher optical zoom or get closer, or take the video through your spotting scope.

Not nearly enough detail to offer any judging regarding size

I can't tell through by the video. Did I see a white patch on one of the waddles forward ?

Find him this year and give us a close picture .

I'd ball-park it between 5 and 8.5 feet Tinman ha.... It kinda looks like that girl you were dancing with the other night at the bar.

I've heard stories floating around town about the gals he's been attempting to pick up! It really is a small town.

Honestly - that is piss poor videography on your part and for all I know, it could be another 5 1/2 footer.

That's tough to tell but right near the end of your clip it starts to turn slightly to the right and though the picture is fuzzy it looked like a heavy bigger bear. I would be taking a good look for this boy come this season, you may find that you just have to feed it some grain, 180 of them!

cant tell enough from the video to make an educated guess..overall impession was a stouter bear than the first one definatly worth a closer look..
